another cheap one is a spa day… without sending your wife to the spa.
Send the kids to grandma’s (or anyone who will watch the kids for free), light a bunch of candles (cheap dollar store candles work just fine), get out the lotion/baby oil, and give her a good massage.
And if you make her up a bubble bath first (put on her favorite radio station, her current book she’s reading, and/or add the ipod, light her a bunch of candles, use air freshner for scent,and dim the lights), she’ll love it!
if you want to buy a bouquet…. there’s always fruit bouquets… beautiful and more worth the money as you can eat them!
And don’t forget a jar of hot fudge… either for the fruit… or later… when the kids are drugged up… I mean have fallen asleep!
And forget the card… do the laundry… take the kids to the park (so the house doesn’t get trashed) while your wife has some girlfriends over to watch chick flicks, paint their nails, and talk.
A relaxed wife is a turned on wife.
tell him! roses are so entwined with Valentine’s day that he probably hasn’t thought that your favorite flower would be better.
Also, remind him that the more romantic he is, the more likely he is you’ll be creative in the bedroom that night.

what is not romantic: flowers with a sale sticker still on it. My husband did this one year.
He gets roses now, but what would be more romantic would be Irises because they are my favorite. I doubt he knows this though.
