You will need to contact your ISP or your network administrator and have them change the php.ini file for you in order to turn off magic quotes.

I have been following the steps to install WebERP from your video and they are clear and brief. I used all the procedures, But, I got a problem with disabling magic quotes. I tried adding php.ini as you recommended in your tutorial but it doesn’t work. Is there any other way to get around the problem? I need your help…..waiting for your response and thank you in advance.

You are correct. YourSite.com/webERP/install/index.php is required to start the installation program.

4.03.8 is the latest stable release. This accounting software has been around for about 10 years and the Upgrade process seems to be working well. New features are added at an incredible rate but the primary accounting functions do not have many new features. There is an article in Network World in 2009 about webERP’s ability to compete with the major players.

Which version is out of beta and relatively bug free? I installed this and will now be checking it out because I want to use your Joomla extensions. I’d rather not be a beta tester with a program I am unfamiliar with. After finally finding and reading in the forums it seems that the release procedure for webERP should be tightened up. Otherwise it appears to be a great program and I do appreciate it being open source. I just want to feel comfortable putting on financial info.

Thank you, the video was very helpful. I did get stumped for a few minutes at about 4:52 . To get to the installation wizard you have to enter the file location in a browser. Otherwise the instructions were great. I did spend several hours figuring out a problem that wasn’t. I installed version 4.03.8 and was getting error messages in some menus. In the configuration settings you have to change the “Log Severity Level:” to “None”. The “debug” is turned on by default.
